Tax Payment Guide

Pay your direct and indirect taxes online through ‘SIBerNet’ - South Indian Banks Internet Banking facility.
 
A) Pre-requisites for Online Tax Payment
  1. Savings / Current / Other Accounts with SIBerNet (SIB’s Internet Banking Facility) transaction facility
  2. Valid PAN / TAN / ASSESSEE code
  3. Present limit for transactions through SIBerNet is Rs. 5 Lakhs and Rs. 15 lakhs per day for retail and corporate customers respectively. For higher limits, corporate customers need to submit Limit Enhancement request at their respective branch. For retail customers limit can be enhanced online using debit card up to Rs. 50 Lakhs i.e. ; through limit enhancement option under service requests menu  
 
B) How to avail the Tax Payment Facility?
  1. SIBerNet Personal customer – Existing SIBerNet Personal customers can avail the Tax Payment facility as part of their SIBerNet facility. 
  2. SIBerNet Corporate Customer –  Existing SIBerNet corporate customers can avail the Tax Payment facility as part of their SIBerNet facility
C) Tax payment limit enhancement

For retail customers:

  1. Customers can do online limit enhancement upto Rs. 50 lakhs through SIBerNet using debit card credentials
    • Due to security reasons, if the customers wish to bring back the enhanced limit after serving the purpose, they can reduce their enhanced limit through SIBerNet itself

For corporate customers: 

  1. Fill in the Limit Enhancement request form and submit to the respective branch.
    • Enhancements can be taken up with the respective branches.
    • Due to security reasons, if the customers wish to bring back the enhanced limit after serving the purpose, they can withdraw the enhanced limit as well.

E) Tax Payment – Steps to be followed

GSTN PAYMENT THROUGH NETBANKING
Retail user
  • Login to GST portal & create challan
  • Select ‘E-Payment’ > Select ‘South Indian Bank’
  • Redirects to SIBerNet login page.
  • Login to SIBerNet using credentials.
  • Select account number for making payment
  • Complete the transaction with transaction credentials
  • Transaction completed successfully and redirecting to GST portal
  • GST payment receipt can be downloaded from GSTN portal
Corporate user
  • Login to GST portal & create challan
  • Select “E-Payment” > “South Indian Bank”
  • Redirects to SIBerNet login page.
  • Login to SIBerNet using credentials
  • Select account number for making payment
  • Complete transaction by selecting Checker User & entering transaction credentials
  • Completed transaction & redirecting to GST portal
  • Login to SIBerNet using Checker credentials
  • Select Approval Queue & choose the transaction to be approved
  • Complete the transaction using transaction credentials
  • Visit GSTN portal for the payment receipt
CBDT PAYMENT THROUGH NETBANKING 
Retail user
  • Login to the Income Tax portal & generate challan.
  • Select “E-Payment” and choose “South Indian Bank” from the list of banks.
  • Redirects to SIBerNet login page.
  • Login using Retail User credentials.
  • Choose the account number to debit.
  • Authorize payment using transaction credentials.
  • On successful transaction, user is redirected back to the Income Tax portal.
  • Receipt can be downloaded from the Income Tax portal.
Corporate user
  • Login to the Income Tax portal & generate challan.
  • Select “E-Payment” and choose “South Indian Bank” from the bank list.
  • Redirects to SIBerNet login page.
  • Login using Corporate User (Maker) credentials.
  • Select account number and initiate payment.
  • Logout and login again using Corporate User (Checker) credentials.
  • Go to Approval Queue and approve the pending transaction.
  • Complete approval using transaction credentials.
  • On successful transaction, user is redirected to the Income Tax portal.
  • Receipt is available for download from the portal.
 
 
F) CIN (Challan Identification number) Format
 
The first seven digits in CIN number column indicates the BSR code, the next eight digits indicates the date of payment, and the last five digit indicate Challan Identification Number.
